What You Missed!
June PDM
In June the chapter hosted two officials from New
York State's Office of Homeland Security. Inspector Ulric
MacKenzie, Jr. and Jessica McGurty, Operations Analyst spoke to
the chapter. It was quite a well-attended and informative
session, as we learned how to keep ourselves and our businesses
safe. We have added a link to the department's website on
our links page.
Also in June the membership voted
on the new Board of Directors. Please see Contact
the Board of Directors for the specifics.

Listening to the Speaker
Triple
joint meeting with over 40 attendees. The speaker
encouraged us to not discount our ability to
remember and demonstrated how discipline is a key
requirement to improving our memories. He
demonstrated this by recalling every single
attendee's name.
November
9, 2004 Professional Development Meeting
Our
Professional Development Meeting for November 9,
2004 featured Ron Buonocore, CPIM, CIRM. Ron
presented his favorite Excel spreadsheets used
during years of consulting and teaching APICS
concepts.
The presentation was full of great ideas on using
Excel to create interactive simulations, which
demonstrate the results of applying APICS core
concepts. He also showed how real information
from your company can be moved to these
interactive spreadsheets and then created
simulations by applying the APICS principles to
analyze the data and to solve your specific
problems.
Thanks again, Ron for a great presentation.
PDM
on October 12, 2004
A
great PDM meeting was had by all. We had lots of
opportunity to network with the most senior of
our chapter members. We held a special ceremony
prior to the presentation where we awarded 25, 20
and 15 year pins
Of our six 25-year members, 5 were present to
receive their service pins. They were Ann
Schaefer, Paul Lynthorst, Ron Hammond, Robert
Marsanico, Ron Buonocore, and Serge Migdal. Of
our eight 20-year members 4 were present: Anthony
Sciacca, Richard Syrek, Indira Mandowski, and
Karen Gannon. We honored one 15 year member:
Anthony DeSimone.
The presentation "Tools for the 21st
Century, by Marilyn Gettinger was rated a 4.3 on
a scale of 5 for speaker knowledge and a 3.9 for
the quality of the presentation.
Don't you wish you had been able to attend? See
